Users are permitted to browse, view, and download Materials for the following purposes:

- Personal study and non-commercial creative practice
- Journalism, criticism, and public discourse on Syrian architecture and heritage
- Conservation, documentation, and heritage advocacy work
The following uses are expressly prohibited without prior written consent from AMASyria:
- Commercial reproduction, sale, or licensing of any Materials
- Use of Materials in advertising, branding, or promotional campaigns
- Systematic or automated extraction of content for training machine learning models or building derivative datasets
- Any use that misrepresents the origin, authorship, or historical context of Materials

Intellectual Property
The AMASyria Archive holds materials originating from multiple rights holders, including architects, their estates, photography studios, institutions, and AMASyria itself. The presence of any material on this Website does not imply that it is in the public domain or free of copyright.
Rights in the Materials are held as follows:
- AMASyria photographs and documentation — © AMASyria, all rights reserved unless otherwise stated
- Original architectural drawings and plans — rights typically held by the architect or their estate; credited on each record
- Essays and written content — © AMASyria and named authors, all rights reserved
- Third-party contributed materials — rights remain with the contributing institution or individual
AMASyria's original contributions to the Archive — including photography commissions, digitisation work, archival research, and editorial essays — are protected by copyright. Reproduction of these works requires attribution and, in some cases, explicit permission.
Image & Document Permissions
Each record in the Archive includes a credit line indicating the rights holder. Users must refer to the individual record for guidance before reproducing any Material. General principles are as follows:

Contributed Materials
AMASyria welcomes contributions of archival materials related to modern architecture in Syria from individuals, families, institutions, and fellow archives. By submitting materials to AMASyria, Contributors agree to the following conditions.
Contributors represent that they hold the rights to the submitted materials, or have obtained the necessary permissions from rights holders, and that the submission does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
AMASyria will publish submitted materials under the contributor's name and in accordance with their stated permissions. Contributors may specify the terms of use they wish to apply, including whether materials may be reproduced by third parties and under what conditions. AMASyria will honour these restrictions in good faith and communicate them clearly on the relevant record.
Contributing materials to AMASyria does not transfer ownership. Contributors retain copyright over their submissions and may request removal of their materials from the Archive at any time by contacting us in writing.
AMASyria reserves the right to decline, defer, or remove contributed materials at its discretion, particularly where provenance cannot be confirmed or where inclusion would be contrary to the Archive's editorial standards.
Third-Party Content
The Archive may contain links to external websites or reference materials held by third parties. AMASyria does not control the content of these external sources and accepts no responsibility for their accuracy, availability, or any changes made to them after the time of reference.
